FESCO Icebreaker to Serve Indian Antarctic Stations

  • FESCO Transportation Group has signed a contract with the National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India) for supplying the Indian research stations in Antarctica in 2019.

    According to the terms of the contract, the company’s icebreaker ship “Vasiliy Golovnin” is to deliver general cargo, food products, fuel to the Indian Antarctic stations Bharati and Maitri.

    NCPOR scientists will also join to this expedition aboard FESCO vessel to carry out scientific activities in the polar.

    The diesel-electric ship “Vasiliy Golovnin” will start its Antarctic voyage from the port of Cape Town in January 2019, the voyage will last three months.
