Russian Wheat Export Surges 80%

  • According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, in January-July 2018 Russia exported some 23.1 mn tons of wheat and meslin, up 80.4% year-on-year.

    In terms of value, grain export surged 84.7% up to $4.2 bn.

    In July this year Russia exported 3.8 mn tons of wheat and meslin, up 78.1% compared to June this year.

    Wheat import into Russia during the 7 months of 2018 grew 37% amounting to 212.9 thousand tons.

    In terms of value, wheat import was up 34.7% up to $32.2 mn.

    Barley import dropped 93.9% down to 6.9 thousand tons, corn import declined 10.9% down to 34.5 thousand tons.

    In terms of value, barley import was down 95.2% to $1.2 mn, and corn import down 7.6% to $126. mn.
