Azov and Caspian Freight Market, Week 37, 2018

  • In current market conditions owners prefer to wait as the quantity of cargoes circulated recently is slowly increasing day by day.

    According to Rufco shipbrokers, freight rates have also showed small upward dynamic during this week.

    Apart from agri products there are also many orders for steel and coal transportation ex Azov sea river ports.

    If cargo volume would continue to rise further it is going to lead to further freight rise.

    Freight rates to the Sea of Marmara from Rostov make $25-26 per ton.

    Freight rates from Rostov to SE Black Sea ports are $23-24 per ton.

    There is nothing new in the Caspian region and most probably the situation there is going to be the same up to the end of the navigation period.

    The quantity of vessels, which will decide to stay in the Caspian for entire winter period, will form the market here until the end of March 2019.

    The current freight rates from Astrakhan to Iran remain at $25-28 per ton.
