Russian Food Import

  • According to the RF Federal Customs Service’s statistics, in January-June this year Russia imported 190 thousand tons of meat and meat products, down 34.4% year-on-year.

    Fresh and frozen poultry import declined 11.2% down to 98.9 thousand tons.

    Fish import, on the contrary, grew 0.3% up to 197.6 thousand tons. Canned meat and processed meat products import increased 3.3% up to 8.7 thousand tons.

    Milk and condensed cream import decreased 37.1% year-on-year down to 71.6 thousand tons.

    Butter import dropped 36.7% down to 36.7 thousand tons. Vegetable oils import increased 68.1% up year-on-year to 15.2 thousand tons. Palm oil import made in June as much as 67.7 thousand tons, down 12.3% month-on-month.

    Citrus fruit import during January-June grew 12.2% year-on-year up to 804.5 thousand tons. Apple import in June made 69.2 thousand tons (-36.6% month-on-month), and banana import was 122.3 thousand tons (-20.8% month-on-month).

    Raw sugar import in January-June dropped 62.8.3% to just 2.7 thousand tons, while white sugar import declined 0.7% up to 56.7 thousand tons.

    Coffee import was up 9.7 to 95.6 thousand tons and tea import down 0.1 % to 84.4 thousand tons.
