Russia and China Agree on High-Speed Rail Transportation

  • Russian Railways and Chinese Railways have signed a Memorandum on organizing high-speed railway cargo transportation on the China – Russia – Europe route.

    The document was signed in framework of the visit of RF President Vladimir Putin to China on board a high-speed train from Bejing to Tianjin.

    The parties agreed to develop goods transportation for conventional trade, logistic operations for e-commerce and express delivery on the China – Russia – Europe route.

    Russian Railways and Chinese Railways intend to analyze the market of e-commerce and international postal delivery on the route in order to assess the potential cargo traffic and develop logistic products.

    Chinese Railways will nominate China Railway Express as an operator responsible for the project, and Russian Railways will nominate RZD Logistics.
