March 30 RF Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov and Murmansk Region Governor Marina Kovtun took part in the ceremony giving the start to the construction of a new coal terminal Lavna in Murmansk.
The terminal capacity will make 18 mn tons per annum.
The coal terminal is expected to become the basis for creating a multi-purpose logistics terminal with an annual capacity up to 40 mn tons.
According to the RF Transport Ministry press service, the project envisages building a rail line from the Lavna rail station to the terminal.
The amnount to private investment is expected to exceed 24 mn rubles.
The project is part of the RF Transport Strategy until 2030 and the Russian Transport System Development federal program.
