Vladivostok to Handle Larger Container Ships

  • Commercial Port of Vladivostok has completed reconstruction of the quayside at its container terminal, which will allow to accommodate vessels with an increased draft.

    At Berth 16 the maximum draft has been increased by 1.4 m to 11.4 m. Berth 15 will be able to accommodate vessels with LOA up to 216 m with a draft up to 11.9 m, and vessels with LOA over 216 with a draft of 11.4 m.

    Quayside reconstruction is part of the container terminal berthing facilities modernization, which also envisages new handling equipment acquisition and road and quayside reconstruction.

    During 2018 over 20 new equipment units are to be delivered to the terminal, including reach stackers, straddle carriers, port trucks, and RMG cranes.
