Russia will be able to increase significantly the volume of grain exports to 70-80 million tons per year. According to Krasnodar Region Administration, the first deputy head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dzhambulat Khatuov stated this at the opening of a new elevator in Novorossiysk.
Novorossiysk Grain Company (NGP) launched a new elevator with a storage capacity of 110,000 tons. The commissioning of the new elevator will increase the one-time storage capacity of grain in the port of Novorossiysk to 240 thousand tons and will significantly reduce the logistics load on the transport infrastructure of the city.
It should be noted that in 2014 NGP started implementing a large-scale project to increase its capacity from 3.5 million tons to 6.1 million tons per year. As part of the project, it is planned to reconstruct existing elevators, internal railways and a pier. The project also included the construction of a silo with a capacity of 100 thousand tons and an export dock.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, NGP in the current season significantly increased the volume of grain throughput. In the period from July 1 to November 30 of this year, it amounted to more than 2.8 million tons, which is 65% more than in the same period last season.
