According to the contract with Haval Motor Manufacturing Rus LLC (a subsidiary of Great Wall Motors, a Chinese car manufacturer) FESCO delivered the first batch of equipment to the Tula region for the Haval car plant which is under construction. The cargo was transported by a special container monotrain through an inland corridor via Mongolia.
Transit time was 11 days, size of the batch is 78 forty-foot containers. Transportation on route Tianjin (China) – Erlian (China) – Zamyn-Uud (Mongolia) – Naushki (Russia) – Novomoskovsk (Russia) is additional service to the present routes via ports of Vladivostok and St. Petersburg.
The new scheme is based on the technologies which were used for delivering in regular FESCO block trains – Mongolian Shuttle and Silk Way Shuttle. For inland transportation FESCO uses its own containers and platforms and platforms of its partner – the Eurosib Group, in partnership with which the Mongolian Shuttle service is organized.
About 30% of containers for the Haval car plant under construction are planned to be transported through the inland corridor via Mongolia and 70% – via port of Vladivostok. Oversized equipment is delivered via port of St. Petersburg.
After the Haval plant launching FESCO plans to use the route Tianjin-Mongolia-Naushki-Novomoskovsk for transporting car component parts and also goods of retail customers.
