Container Traffic via Ukrainian Ports

  • Container traffic via Ukrainian port made 544.8 thousand TEU during January-November 2017 increasing 3.1% year-on-year.

    By comparison, Novorossiysk handled 651.6 thousand TEU during this period.

    The figure posted by the Ukrainian Sea Port Authority does not include the data for Ilyichevsk Sea Fishing Port. As per SeaNews’ statistics, this stevedore handled 121.1 thousand TEU in January-November 2017, 32.7% up year-on-year.

    Export container traffic via Ukrainian ports during the 11 months of 2017 grew 0.7% year-on-year making 234.8 thousand.

    Imports increased 4.2% to 277.8 thousand TEU, transit was up 13.6% to 29.9 thousand TEU. Cabotage traffic dropped 10.2% to 2.2 thousand TEU.

    Odessa handled 467.9 thousand TEU, 7.2% above the result for the same period of 2016. Yuzhny was down 13.8% to 63.6 thousand TEU, and Chernomorsk (formerly, Ilyichevsk) down 26.9% to 13.3 thousand TEU.
