FESCO and Uzbek Railways Plan Direct Tashkent – Moscow Container Service

  • FESCO Transport Group, O’zbekiston temir yo’llari (Uzbek Railways) and O’zteniryo’lcontainer, a subsidiary of Uzbek Railways, have agreed to launch a direct container service between Tashkent and Moscow, FESCO said in a statement.

    The agreement was reached in a meeting between Andrey Severilov, FESCO Board Chairman Abdumalik Kamildzhanov, Deputy Board Chairman of Uzbek Railwaysm and Akmal Kamalov, Chairman of the O’zteniryo’lcontainer Board during an official visit of a FESCO delegation to Uzbekistan.

    The parties agreed to develop container transportation between Uzbekistan and Russia and to jointly operate new transit routes via Kyrgyzstan to China and via Turkmenistan to Turkey, Africa and Mediterranean using FESCO’s intermodal services.

    The parties also discussed options for FESCO to participate in developing transport infrastructure and potential logistics digitalization projects in Uzbekistan.
