RF Government Sells Bronka Port

  • The Government of the Russian Federation has approved the sale of Fenix, the owner and operator of Bronka Port in St. Petersburg, to Moscow-registered NCC Logistic for 10.9 bn rubles ($141.6 mn). Decree No 629-r to this effect was signed by RF Premier Mikhail Mishustin on March 18, 2023.

    The sale was suggested by the RF Ministry of finance and approved by the Ministry of transport and the RF Federal Agency for State Property Management. The latter is to conclude a contract with the buyer within a month from the date when the decree enters into force.

    In February last year, 100% of the authorized stock capital of Fenix belonging to the state was transferred to the ownership of Rostec State Corporation.

    According to the data to be found in open sources, NCC Logistic was registered on September 6, 2021 in Moscow. The company’s core business is railway freight transportation. 80% in the company belongs to National Cartographic Corporation, and 20% to its Managing Director.

    Bronka International Multifunctional Complex started commercial operations in December 2015 as the border crossing checkpoint was opened at the terminal.

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, during 2022 the company handled 1.4 mn tons of cargo, down 61.9% year-on-year, including 56.9 thousand TEU (-72.2% year-on-year), 368 thousand tons of piece cargo (up 2.4-fold), q97 thousand tons of ferrous metals (-57.9%) and 126.9 thousand tons of ro-ro cargo (-81.2%).
