FESCO has launched a new regular rail container service branded FESCO Kuban Shuttle from Vladivostok in the Russian Far East to Timashevsk in Krasnodar Kray in South Russia.
Block trains will run on a fortnightly basis from Commercial Port of Vladivostok arriving at the rail station of Timashevskaya, FESCO said in a statement.
In future, the service frequently is planned to be updated to weekly. The transit time makes 12-13 days. The service is aimed mainly for food products, consumer goods and construction cargo.
The first train carrying 98 containers laden with consumer goods arrived at the Timashevskaya rail terminal on October 15. The unloading operation took just 18.5 days, which allowed of delivering part of the cargo to customers less than a day after the train arrival.
At present, FESCO is working on finding cargo for back load.
