Gazprom Neft Launches Yamal Gas Arctic Subsea Gas Pipeline

  • Gazprom Neft has put into operation the Yamal Gas Arctic subsea gas pipeline to connect the production facilities on the Yamal Peninsula with the Yamburg – Tula mainline gas pipeline.

    The pipeline will transport gas extracted at the Novy Port field into the Common gas supply system of Russia. The company has invested Gazprom Neft more than 150 bn ($2.04 bn) into the project, Gazprom Neft said in a statement.

    The subsea part of the pipeline 58.4 km long crosses the Ob Bay of the Kara Sea 5 meters below the bottom, which protects the biosphere from noise, vibration and electromagnetic radiation.

    Gazprom Neft said launching the Yamal Gas pipeline opens new opportunities for developing new fields in the couth of the Yamal Peninsula.
