According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-September 2021 Russia imported 45.9 mn pairs of leather footwear, up 14.5% year-on-year. In terms of value, leather footwear import increased by 23.2% year-on-year up to $1.2 bn.
Clothes import into Russia grew by 14.4% up to more than $6 bn.
Cotton fabric import during the first 9 months was up 26% year-on-year to 272.7 mn sqm. In terms of value it increased by 37.1% up to $158.9 mn.
Cotton fabric export from Russia declined by 32.6% year-on-year down to more than 71.1 mn sqm worth $39.1 mn, up 4.8%.
In September, leather footwear import grew by 44.2% year-on-year and declined by 13.9% month-on-month making 6.2 mn pairs worth $194.7 mn, up 37.3% year-on-year and down 7.6% month-on-month.
Clothes import was up 19.6% year-on-year and down 2.3% month-on-month to $805.1 mn.
Cotton fabric import in September grew by 11.7% year-on-year and by 24.1% month-on-month amounting to more than 30.9 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $20.4 mn, up 39.7% year-on-year and up 36.9% month-on-month.
Cotton fabric export declined by 14.9% year-on-year and increased by 11.4% month-on-month to make more than 8.8 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $4.4 mn, up 12.8% year-on-year and up 12.8% month-on-month.
