In January-September 2021, the sea ports of Ukraine handled 760.6 thousand TEU, down 1.9% year-on-year.
By way of comparison, Russia’s largest Black Sea port of Novorossiysk during January-September 2021 handled 613.8 thousand TEU growing by 9%.
According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Administration, export container traffic via the Ukrainian sea ports made 357. thousand TEU, down 1.4% year-on-year. Import decreased by 1.4% down to 371.4 thousand TEU. Transit container traffic via the major Ukrainian ports declined by 11.9% down to 31.5 thousand TEU. Cabotage made 2 TEU.
Odessa handled 498.4 thousand TEU in January-September, down 1.7% year-on-year.
Container traffic via Pivdenniy (formerly, Yuzhny) decreased by 8% to make 167.2 thousand TEU.
Chernomorsk (formerly known as Ilyichevsk) handled 94.8 thousand TEU, down 16.7% year-on-year.
Olvia Specialized Sea Port (formerly, Oktyabrsk) handled 202 TEU (-51.9%).
