Container Traffic via Azov and Black Sea Basin Ports in June 2021 Up 18.8%

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total container throughput via the Azov and Black Sea basin ports in June 2021 increased by 18.8% year-on-year. Export was up 11.2%, import up 28.4%. Cabotage and transit were non-existent in June 2021.

    The share of the Azov and Black Sea basin in the total container traffic via all the Russian seaports in June 2021 amounted to 14.1%.

    Laden container throughput grew by 25.9% year-on-year. Reefer containers accounted for 17.3% of the total laden container traffic, and dry containers for 82.7%. Imports made 57.6% of all the laden containers, exports 42.4%.

    Empty container traffic decreased by 4.2%.

    The port of Novorossiysk accounted for 98.7% of the aggregate container throughput via the Russian Azov and Black Sea basin sea ports in June. Azov handled 1.1%, and Kavkaz 0.2% of the total.
