During January-May 2021, the trade turnover between Russia and the countries of the European Union increased by 20.7% year-on-year up to 89.9 bn euro.
According to Eurostat, import from EU countries into Russia was up 12.5% during the 5 months 2021 making 35.2 bn euro. Export from Russia to the European Union grew by 26.6% up to 54.7 bn euro.
Russia rates the fifth among the largest importers from the EU after the USA, the United Kingdom, China and Switzerland.
Among the largest exporters to the EU countries, Russia ranks the third after China and the USA. The UK, which rates the fourth, is almost a step away from Russia, the gap making just 1.4 bn euro.
