The dual fuel rail and car/truck ferry “Ivan Shernyakhovsky” under construction for Russia’s port property management agency Rosmorport has been launched.
The vessel is being built in cooperation between the Nevsky Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Yard and Kuzey Star Shipyard.
In August 2020, the ferry “Marshal Rokossovsky”, a sistership of “Ivan Shernyakhovsky, was built. The both vessels are to be deployed transporting cargo between Ust-Luga and Baltiysk in the Baltic.
The 200 m LOA, 27 m beam ferries will have an Arc4 ice class, a speed of 16.5 knots, and a crew of 24. they will be equipped with 12,000 kWt engines and 2×300 cbm LNG tanks.
