TOP-5 Russian Terminals’ Chemical and Mineral Fertilizers Throughput in January-March 2021

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the chemical and mineral fertilizers throughput of all the Russian sea ports during January-March 2021 amounted to 4.4 mn tons (+6.8%). Chemical and mineral fertilizers accounted for 2.2% of the total throughput.

    Baltic Bulk Terminal is the leader in terms of chemical and mineral fertilizers throughput with 1.5 mn tons, up 26.7% year-on-year.

    Murmansk Bulk Terminal saw its chemical and mineral fertilizers traffic increase by 7.5% up to 960.2 thousand tons.

    European Sulfur Terminal (Ust-Luga) handled 899.9 thousand tons, up 7.6% year-on-year.

    Chemical and mineral fertilizers throughput via Tuapse Bulk Terminal declined by 9.3% down to 303.1 thousand tons.

    Petrolesport in Big Port of St. Petersburg handled 186 thousand tons (up 37.2-fold). In January-February 2020 Petrolesport did not handle chemical and mineral fertilizers. In March 2020 the terminal handled 5 thousand tons.

    It should be noted that the highest chemical and mineral fertilizers throughput growth was via Petrolesport, up 37.2-fold. Yeisk Sea Port was up 5.6-fold, and Sea Fishing Port in the Big Port of St. Petersburg up 2.7-fold.

    The largest decrease in chemical and mineral fertilizers traffic was in Anroskrym in port Kavkaz (-96.6%), Commercial Port of Vladivostok (VMTP) (-53%) and Commercial Center, Transport & Les in the Big Port of St. Petersburg (-41.8%).
