According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total container throughput of all the Russian sea ports during January-March 2021 amounted to more than 1.3 mn TEU. Five terminals handled 745.7 thousand TEU or 55.8% of this volume.
In January-March 2021 Commercial Port of Vladivostok (VMTP) remains the leader in terms of container throughput. Its container traffic increased by 20.6% up to 174.2 thousand TEU.
First Container Terminal rates the second in January-March 2021. It handled 157.1 thousand TEU, down 8.1% year-on-year.
Container traffic via NUTEP amounted to 153.5 thousand TEU, up 22.2% year-on-year.
Container Terminal Saint-Petersburg saw container traffic decrease by 19.2% down to 148.6 thousand TEU.
Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company handled 112.3 thousand TEU, up 11.5% year-on-year.
It should be noted that the highest container throughput growth was via Murmansk Commercial Sea Port. Its container traffic surged 5.8-fold. Directorate for Construction under the Presidential Administrative Department in the Far Eastern Federal District was up 2.1-fold, and Astrakhan Port up 89.1%.
The largest decrease in container traffic was in YuzhnoKurilsk Docker in Nevelsk (-85.3%), Olya Commercial Sea Port (-53.1%), and Anroskrym in Port Kavkaz (-44.3%).
