Russia Introduces Export Due for Sunflower Oil

  • Russia is introducing a floating customs duty for export of sunflower oil and changing export duties for sunflower seeds. RF Premier Mikhail Mishustin signed governmental decrees to this effect on April 6.

    Export duty for sunflower seeds will make 50%, but no less than $320 per ton from July 15, 2021 till August 31, 2022.

    The 30% export duty for rapeseeds introduced earlier is prolonged till August 31, 2022.

    A floating 70% export duty for sunflower oil is introduced from September 1, 2021 till August 31, 2022. The duty will be applied to the difference between the basic price ($1,000 per ton) and the indicative price (the monthly market average) reduced by the correcting coefficient ($50 per ton).

    The measures are expected to help stabilize prices for these commodities in the home market in Russia.
