Bunge Sells Grain Terminal in Russia

  • Agricultural commodities trader Bunge has sold 100% in its Rostov Grain Terminal in southern Russia to former top managers of Russia’s United Grain Company.

    According to Sberbank, which helped finance the deal, the new owners are Marat Shaidaev and Alexey Chemerichko.

    Rostov Grain Terminal used to be a captive terminal, now it is planned to make it common service terminal to serve all market players, Chemerichko said.

    Rostov Grain Terminal handles river-sea class vessels up to 5.5 tons. The nominal capacity of the terminal is about 1 mn tons per annum, the storage capacity is up to 42 thousand tons.

    According to SeaNres PORTSTAT analytic online service, in 2020 Rostov Grain Terminal handled 267.2 thousand tons, up 5.1% year-on-year.
