Maersk has increased the frequency of its АЕ19 rail service from Asia to Europe via Vostochny and St. Petersburg. November 27, a block train carrying 123 TEU left Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company in the Russian Far East for First Container Terminal in St. Petersburg.
The train is expected to arrive to St. Petersburg on December 9. From now on, the rail service will be operated twice a week.
The weekly service was launched in August 2019. Later, in March 2020, the company launched a service from Europe to China, with a once in a fortnight frequency. It is panned to update this service to make it weekly in the near future.
Transportation volume on the АЕ19 route has been growing, now Maersk offers the service for both dry and reefer containers. All shippers using АЕ19 benefit from Maersk’s regular online digital service, including Tradelens.
The service is operated in cooperation with Global Ports and Modul.
