TOP-5 Russian Terminals Throughput in January-June 2020

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total cargo throughput of all the Russian sea ports during January-June 2020 amounted to 410.4 mn tons (+0.3%). Five terminals handled 122 mn tons or 29.7% of this volume.

    CPC-R in Novorossiysk was the leader in terms of cargo throughput. Its cargo traffic increased by 2.3% up to 31.2 mn tons.

    Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port stepped up a line in January-June 2020 and rates the second. It handled 29.8 mn tons, down 20.3% year-on-year.

    Primorsk Commercial Port stepped a line down and rates the third. Cargo traffic via the terminal amounted to 29.5 mn tons, down 1.1% year-on-year.

    Cargo throughput via Transneft Kozmino Port in Vostochny increased by 5.5% up to 17.2 mn tons.

    Neva Pipeline Company in Ust-Luga handled 14.3 mn tons. Its cargo traffic was down 13.9% year-on-year.

    It should be noted that the stevedores, which demonstrated the highest growth did not get into the Top-5. Novorossiysk Grain Terminal saw its cargo traffic surge 10.6-fold, SGT Kavkaz was up 9.2-fold, and Arctic Consulting Service in Arkhangelsk up 8.2-fold.

    The largest decrease in cargo traffic was in Nakhodka Oil Bunker (-96.5%), Commodity Service (Murmansk) (-95.4%) and Dalzavod-Terminal (Vladivostok) (-93.1%).
