According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-May 2020 Russia exported 18.4 mn tons of ferrous metals, up 5.3% year-on-year. In terms of value, ferrous metals export declined by 19.6% down to $6.6 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export was down 0.6% year-on-year to some 6.4 mn tons. In terms of value, it decreased by 14.6% down to $2.4 bn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export in January-May 2020 increased by 1.9% year-on-year up to 2.9 mn tons worth $1.4 bn, down 15.4%.
Cast iron export during the 5 months 2020 dropped by 42.2% year-on-year down to 1.1 mn tons worth $333.1 mn, down 49.4%.
Ferroalloys export in January-May 2020 decreased by 14.1% year-on-year down to 309.4 thousand tons worth $397.3 mn (-30.7%).
According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, in May 2020 ferrous metals export was up 17.4% year-on-year and up 23.2% month-on-month to 3.7 mn tons. In terms of value, it declined by 9.2% year-on-year, but grew by 17.2% month-on-month to make $1.4 bn.
Intermediate iron and unalloyed steel products export in May 2020 was up 29.8% year-on-year and up 25.9% month-on-month making 1.5 mn tons. In terms of value, it decreased by 2.3% year-on-year and grew by 18.2% month-on-month to make $492 mn.
Iron and unalloyed steel flat section export in May surged by 59% year-on-year and by 68.2% month-on-month making 903.5 thousand tons worth $389.1 mn (up 22.6% year-on-year and up 55% month-on-month).
Cast iron export in May 2020 made 171.4 thousand tons, down 59.1% year-on-year and down 50.1% month-on-month. In terms of value, it amounted to $52.8 mn, down 63.7% year-on-year and down 50.3% month-on-month.
Ferroalloy export in May 2020 was down 28.9% year-on-year and down 3.3% month-on-month to 53.2 thousand tons. In terms of value, it declined by 45.4% year-on-year and by 16.4% month-on-month to make $63 mn.
