Russia’s Import of Crawler Excavators Up in 2019

    According to SeaNews Russian Foreign Trade Customs Statistics online service, in 2019, Russia imported 5.2 thousand crawler excavators (+13.3% year-on-year) worth $602.9 mn (-4.5%).

    Crawler excavators were imported to Russia from 19 countries. The largest shipments were from Japan, republic of Korea and China. Most of the machinery was delivered to Moscow and the Moscow region, as well as to Primorsky Kray.

    Crawler excavators import from Japan increased by 48% up to 2.5 thousand pieces in physical terms and by 10.2% up to $207.9 mn in monetary terms. More than 75% of all the Japanese-made excavators were designated for Moscow, also, significant numbers were delivered to Tatarstan and Primorsky Kray.

    1.3 thousand crawler excavators were imported from Republic of Korea (-4.8%) worth $144.8 mn (+1.3%). Almost all of them were destined for Primorsky Kray, Moscow and Kaluga regions.

    Crawler excavators import from China increased by 13% up to 1.1 thousand united in physical terms and by 2.4% up to $164.9 mn in monetary terms. The machines were mainly shipped to Moscow and the Moscow region as well as to Khabarovsk Kray and Nizhny Novgorod region.
