  • According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total container throughput via the Azov and Black Sea basin ports in February 2020 grew by 7.4% year-on-year. Import was up 12.6%, export up 2.5%. Cabotage dropped by 70.7%, transit declined by 18.2%.

    The share of the Azov and Black Sea basin in the total container traffic via all the Russian seaports in February 2020 amounted to 17.4%.

    Laden container throughput increased by 7.9% year-on-year. Reefer containers accounted for 20.4% of the total laden container traffic, and dry containers for 79.6%. Imports made 62.96% of all the laden containers, exports 36.89%, transit 0.11%, and cabotage 0.04%.

    Empty container traffic grew by 6%.

    The port of Novorossiysk accounted for 99.1% of the aggregate container throughput via the Russian Azov and Black Sea basin sea ports in February. Azov handled 0.8%, and Kavkaz 0.1% of the total.
