  • According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total container throughput via the Baltic basin ports in February 2020 decreased by 6.1% year-on-year. Export was down 2.9%, import down 9%.

    The share of the Baltic basin in the total container traffic via all the Russian seaports in February 2020 amounted to 47.5%.

    Laden container throughput declined by 1.9% year-on-year. Reefer containers accounted for 15% of the total laden container traffic, and dry containers for 85%. Exports made 46.2% of all the laden containers, and imports 53.8%.

    Empty container traffic was down 24.4%.

    The Big Port of St. Petersburg accounted for 88.1% of the aggregate container throughput via the Russian Baltic basin sea ports in February. Kaliningrad handled 9%, and Ust-Luga 2.9% of the total.
