The cargo throughput of the Russian ports in the Southern region in October 2019 increased by 4.1% year-on-year. Import was up 23.9%, transit up 5.5% and export up 6.2%. Cabotage, on the contrary, declined by 16%.
The major share of the total throughput is oil and products. Crude oil accounted for 35.8% of the overall volume, oil products for 22.1% and grains for 17.1%.
Novorossiysk
The aggregate result demonstrated by the stevedores operating in the port of Novorossiysk grew by 6.2% year-on-year. Export was up 8.1%, transit up 1.3%, import up 11.3%, cabotage surged 3.4-fold.
Tuapse
In October 2019 Tuapse handled 12.6% more than during October 2018. The major share was export, which increased by 10.3%. Import surged 3.7-fold. Cabotage was up 19.5%.
Rostov-on-the-Don
In October 2019 cargo throughput via Rostov grew by 1.5% year-on-year. Cabotage declined by 29.6%, while export was up 7.9%, and import surged 2.8-fold.
Taman
Cargo traffic via Taman declined by 7% year-on-year in October. Export decreased by 12.6%, import was down 3%. Transit, on the contrary, increased by 29.4%.
Kavkaz
Cargo traffic via Port Kavkaz decreased by 11.6% year-on-year. Export was down 15.1%, cabotage down 6.1% and import down 32.1%.
