Clothes, Footwear and Fabric Import

  • According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, during January-June 2019 Russia imported 28.6 mn pairs of leather footwear, down 1% year-on-year. In terms of value, leather footwear import declined by 9% year-on-year down to $708.4 mn.

    In June, leather footwear import was down 19.6% year-on-year, but up 60.9% month-on-month making 3.7 mn pairs.

    Clothes import into Russia in January-June increased by 1.6% up to $3.27 mn. In June, it was up 1.2% year-on-year and up 38.7% month-on-month to $628.1 mn.

    Cotton fabric import during the first six months was up 25% year-on-year to almost 145 mn sqm worth $67.5 mn. In terms of value it grew by 3.1% up to $81 mn.

    In June, cotton fabric import increased by 31.5% year-on-year and declined by 0.4% month-on-month amounting to $22.3 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $13.2 mn, up 12.8% year-on-year and up 0.8% month-on-month.

    Cotton fabric export from Russia during January-June 2019 increased by 21.3% year-on-year up to more than 50.9 mn sqm worth $24.3 mn, same as a year ago.

    In June, cotton fabric export surged by 82.9% year-on-year and by 52.9% month-on-month to make 9.3 mn sqm. In terms of value, it made $3.4 mn, up 6.3% year-on-year and 9.7% month-on-month.
