Over 90 Mio Tons by Northern Sea Route

  • Rosatom intends to expand the cargo traffic carried along the Northern Sea Route up to 92.6 mn tons by 2024, told the Arctic Forum in St. Petersburg Alexey Likhachev, Director of the corporation.

“We target 92.6 mn tons, not 80 mn, by 2024. We expect that by the 2030s a significant share of international transit will complement the cargo base earlier stated”, he said.

Rosatom expects that during the 2030s eastbound traffic along the Northern Sea Route alone will make some 120-130 mn tons designated for Southeast and East Asian markets.
