TransContainer in cooperation with Volkswagen Grupp Rus have delivered a 3000th block train carrying car parts from Brest to the company’s factory in Kaluga. The train arrived at the destination on February 5.
The project is aimed for transportation of Volkswagen, Skoda and Audi car parts from production facilities in Germany and Czechia to assembly plants in Russia in containers.
Currently, there two production facilities involved, one in Wolfsburg in Germany and the other in Mlade Boleslav in Czechia, and two assembly plants in Russia, one in Kaluga (Volkswagen Grupp Rus) and the other in Nizhny Novgorod (GAZ).
TransContainer partners in this project with DB Cargo Logistics GmbH and Belorussian Railways in the project.
Since the start of the project, TransContainer’s rolling stock was used to carry more than 890 thousand TEU, including over 371.3 thousand TEU was carried from Bret to Kaluga.
