According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, in January 2018 Russia imported 5.7 mn pairs of leather footwear, up 30% year-on-year.
In terms of value, leather footwear import increased 24.1% to $133.4 mn.
Clothes import also grew, in January it made $527.8 mn exceeding the January 2017 level by 17.8%.
The import of cotton fabric increased 30% to 21.4 mn sqm in physical terms. In terms of value it was up 25.3% to $2.9 mn.
Cotton fabric export from Russia surged 48.3% to 4.7 mn sqm physically and 52.6% to $2.9 mn in terms of value.
