TOP-5 Russian Terminals’ Ferrous Metals Throughput in January-October 2020

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the ferrous metals throughput of all the Russian sea ports during January-October 2020 amounted to 22.2 mn tons (+0.4%). Ferrous metals account for 3.3% of the total throughput.

    Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port is the leader in terms of ferrous metals throughput with 6.1 mn tons, down 13.3% year-on-year.

    Tuapse Commercial Sea Port saw its ferrous metals traffic increase by 13% up to 2.3 mn tons.

    Nakhodka MTP handled 2 mn tons, up 32.7% year-on-year.

    Ferrous metals throughput via Sea Port of St. Petersburg declined by 6.9% down to 1.9 mn tons.

    Neva-Metal handled 1.9 mn tons (+12.1%).

    It should be noted that the highest growth was in Pervomayskiy Seaport of Vladivostok (up 18.9-fold). Gasprom Transservice in Temryuk saw its ferrous metals traffic surge 8.5-fold, Astrakhan Sea Port was up 6.5%.

    The largest decrease in ferrous metals traffic was in Yuzhnokurilsk Docker in Nevelsk (-91.7%), Naryan-Mar Commercial Sea Port (-80%) and Korsakov Commercial Sea Port (-70%).
