Global Ports has received the first block train in the framework of a new multimodal service from China to Kaliningrad, Delo Group said.
The first shipment consisting of 75 40’ units with car parts was delivered by sea to Global Ports’ terminal in Wrangel Bay and then by rail to First Container Terminal in St. Petersburg.
From FCT, the cargo will be shipped to Kaliningrad and trucked to local manufacturers.
The service combining three transport modes, sea, rail and road, is organized by Delo Group, Novik Group and RusTrans Grupp.
Trains run every 12-14 days, the full transit time from China to consignees in Kaliningrad region is 25 days.
