During January-August 2026, 420.5 tons of exotic fruit was imported to the Omsk region, the RF Federal Customs Service said in its social media.
Year-on-year, exotic fruit import grew 19% in terms of tonnage. The scope of fruit kind imported also expanded. This year, the region started importing pineapples, pitahayas, and lychees.
The largest share in the total exotic fruit import was mangoes and pomelos.
The major exporters of exotic fruit to the region are China and Egypt.
