During the first half of 2026, tea import to the Urals federal region grew more than twice reaching 845.5 tons, the Federal Customs Service said in its messenger channel.
94% of the total imports was black tea, which surged 2.5-fold. The share of unflavoured green tea made about 4%, and that of flavoured green tea was 1.5%. The former grew 130-fold year-on-year.
The major exporters of tea to the Urals are Viet Nam accounting for 46%, Kazakhstan (29.5%), India (11%) and Kenya (10%).
