Container traffic via al the sea ports of Russia made 2.6 mn TEU during January-July 2022. Five largest container terminals handled 59% of this volume, or 1.5 mn TEU.
According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the leader of the Russian port container market was Commercial Port of Vladivostok with 410.5 thousand TEU, down 3.6% year-on-year.
Novorossiysk-based NUTEP handled 330.9 thousand TEU, down 2.9%, in January-July 2022, thus occupying the second place.
Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company in the port of Vostochny rated the third with 327.2 thousand TEU, up 8.2% year-on-year.
Container Terminal Saint Petersburg was the fourth with 268.3 thousand TEU, down 25.2%, and First Container Terminal the fifth with 211.4 thousand TEU, down 43.4% year-on-year.
The highest growth in container traffic was in Vanino Commercial Sea Port, which surged 419-fold handling 3.4 thousand TEU in January-July 2022 compared to just 8 TEU during the same period of 2021. Vostochny Port grew 60.8-fold, and Dalkomkholod up 41-fold.
The worst downturn was in Sea Port of St. Petersburg, down 94.9%, Yuzhno-Kurilsk Docker, down 74.6%, and Blue Wave Shipping Company, down 71.7%.
In July 2022, the overall port handled container volume in Russia declined by 44% year-on-year to make 269.4 thousand TEU. Commercial Port of Vladivostok remained the market leader increasing throughput by 5.7%.
NUTEP retained its second position declining 8% year-on-year. Container Terminal Saint Petersburg, down 43.6%, rated the third. Vladivostok Sea Fishing Port, down 5.5%, was the fourth, and Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company, down 60%, the fifth.
