During January-June 2022, cargo volume carried by all transport modes in the RF transport system was down 0.3% year-on-year to 2.92 bn tons.
According to the RF Statistics Agency, the largest volume was carried by road, up 0.5% year-on-year to 2.38 bn tons.
Rail freight declined by 2.8% year-on-year down to 615.6 mn tons.
Pipeline traffic was down 3.4% year-on-year to 554.7 mn tons. Gas pipeline transportation declined by 10.9% down to 266.1 mn tons. The volume of crude oil pipeline transportation increased by 4.7% to 266.6 mn tons and that of product pipeline transportation by 6.7% to 22.1 mn tons.
Sea freight grew by 9.5% year-on-year up to 11.4 mn tons.
Inland shipping volume increased by 3.2% year-on-year up to 36.8 mn tons.
Air transport carried 0.34 mn tons, down 50.2% year-on-year.
In June 2022, rail and pipeline freight declined, while transportation volume by the rest of the transport modes increased.
