First Block Train from Turkey to Russia via Baku – Tbilisi – Kars

  • RZD Logistics in cooperation with Turkey’s Pasifik Eurasia Logistics (PASİFİK EURASİA LOJİSTİK DIŞ TİCARET A.Ş.) has sent the first block train from Turkey to Russia via the Baku – Tbilisi – Kars rail corridor.

    The train carrying fifteen 40’ units laden with dishwashers and gas stoves left Marşandiz rail station in Ankara, Turkey on January 29. At the Akhalkali rail station on the Georgian border the container were taken off the 1435 gauge platforms and loaded onto 1520 gauge platform and carried on to the final destination in Vorsino, Kaluga region.

    The new route is expected to cut logistics expenses and transit time.
