Petrolesport Inaugurates Cross-Dock Facility

  • Petrolesport has inaugurated a cross-docking facility for handling various commodity types including temperature sensitive fruit and vegetables like bananas.

    The capacity of the new cross-docking facility is 150 containers a day, it is equipped with a microclimate system with a function of maintaining preset temperature.

    To improve reefer truck handling efficiency, the access roads were reconstructed and a large parking was built near the cross-dock.

    Cross-dock operations are supported by electronic data flow, the technology solutions implemented allow of combining unstuffing/stuffing and control operations.

    PLP has one of the largest reefer terminals in Northern Europe with 3,510 reefer sockets.
