PLP Introduces Time Slotting for General Cargo

  • Petrolesport, St. Petersburg-based container terminal, part of Global Ports group, has introduced a new IT service, time slotting system for general cargo gate-in.

The new service allows for submitting application and receiving gate-in permit for general cargo trucked to the terminal to be stuffed into containers or loaded in bulk, without exchanging numerous e-mails and papers.

The system automatically coordinates the application with the warehouse, the security and the operations departments of Petrolesport.

An additional option is receiving one-time permits to visit the port for truck drivers from the border control service.

Back in 2006, Petrolesport implemented a time slotting system for containers.
