Russia’s Wheat Export Continues Growing

  • According to the RF Federal Customs Service statistics, in January-June 2018 Russia exported some 19.3 mn tons of wheat and meslin, up 69.1% year-on-year.

    In terms of value, grain export surged 72.3% up to $3.5 bn.

    In June this year Russia exported 2.2 mn tons of wheat and meslin, which is 46.9% below the result recorded for May of this year.

    Wheat import into Russia during the 6 months of 2018 grew 39.7% amounting to 192.8 thousand tons.

    In terms of value, wheat import was up 34.1% to $28.7 mn.

    Barley import dropped 92.9% down to 6.4 thousand tons, corn import declined 8.3% down to 34.2 thousand tons.

    In terms of value, barley import was down 94.5% to $1.1 mn, and corn import down 8.1% to $125.3 mn.
