Container Traffic via Azov and Black Sea Basin Ports in November 2021 Down 5.4%

    The total container throughput via the Azov and Black Sea basin ports in November 2021 decreased by 5.4% year-on-year. Export was down 1%, import down 9.6%. Transit, on the contrary, grew by 28%.

    The article is based on SeaNews PORTSTAT online service (available for SeaNews subsribers).

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the share of the Azov and Black Sea basin in the total container traffic via all the Russian seaports in November 2021 amounted to 14%.

    Laden container throughput declined by 6.1% year-on-year. Reefer containers accounted for 24.1% of the total laden container traffic, and dry containers for 75.9%. Exports made 55.8% of all the laden containers, imports 44.1%, transit 0.1%.

    Empty container traffic decreased by 2.3%.

    The port of Novorossiysk accounted for 98.9% of the aggregate container throughput via the Russian Azov and Black Sea basin sea ports in November. Azov handled 1.1%, and Temryuk 0.02% of the total.
