In January-November 2021, the sea ports of Ukraine handled 924.1 thousand TEU, down 2.9% year-on-year.
By way of comparison, Russia’s largest Black Sea port of Novorossiysk during January-November 2021 handled 675.3 thousand TEU growing by 7.5%.
According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Administration, export container traffic via the Ukrainian sea ports made 431.1 thousand TEU, down 3.9% year-on-year.
Import decreased by 2.3% down to 451.9 thousand TEU. Transit container traffic via the major Ukrainian ports declined by 1.4% down to 40.6 thousand TEU. Cabotage made 568 TEU.
Odessa handled 605.3 thousand TEU in January-November, up 4.4% year-on-year.
Container traffic via Pivdenniy (formerly, Yuzhny) decreased by 4.8% to make 212.8 thousand TEU.
Chernomorsk (formerly known as Ilyichevsk) handled 105.8 thousand TEU, down 23.1% year-on-year.
Olvia Specialized Sea Port (formerly, Oktyabrsk) handled 202 TEU, down 60.1% year-on-year.
