Govt Amends Export Dues for Ferroalloys and Iron Powder

    The Government of the Russian Federation has amended the export tariffs for ferroalloys and iron powder in a move to support the export potential of the country’s major producers. A decree to this effect was signed by RF Premier Mikhail Mishustin on September 14, 2021.

    The new export dues will make

    • 5%, but no less than $49 pmt for ferromanganese,
    • 5%, but no less than $71 pmt, for ferro silico chrome,
    • 5%, but no less than $57, $109 or $134 pmt for ferrochrome (depending on the alloy).

    The Government has also cancelled export dues for iron powder, ferromolybdenum, ferroniobium, ferrotungsten, and ferrotitanium.

    The decree comes into force 30 days after it was published and applies to contracts signed on or after September 3, 2021.
