    On week 36, freight rates in the Azov-Black Sea region continue to fall. According to Sea Lines shipbrokers, the rate for sending a 3K wheat parcel from Azov to Marmara dropped to $43 pmt due to the expected increase in the export dusty for wheat by $7.1 from $39.4 to $46.5 per ton.

    At the same time, the export duty for barley was reduced by $0.9 from $27 to $26.1 per ton. In this regard, the number of requests for sending barley has slightly increased. However, the greatest demand is observed for wheat, and charterers are actively looking for a spot fleet in order to have time to send a ship before the new duty, which is likely to be another 7-8 dollars higher than this week, comes into force.

    The situation is greatly complicated by a storm in the Black Sea, which makes it impossible for shipowners to guarantee exact vessel arrival dates, which are now so important for charterers. There is still no active trade on the Russian river this week, since most cargo owners do not intend to sell goods in the next few weeks, expecting prices to rise.

    On week 36, freight rates for 3,000-5,000 dwt bulkers from the port of Azov declined for some destinations.

    According to Sea Lines, freight rates for wheat parcels from Azov made $41 to the Black Sea, $43 to Marmara, $59 to Mersin and $66 to Egypt.

    Freight rates from Rostov AB (after bridge) are $1 above, from Rostov BB (before bridge) the same, from Yeisk and Taganrog $1 below, and from Temryuk $3 below those from the port of Azov.

    In the Caspian, freight rates were also down.

    On week 36, freight rates for shipping corn by 3,000 dwt bulkers to Iran made $25 from Aktau, $32 from Makhachkala, and $34 from Astrakhan.
