TOP-5 Russian Terminals Throughput in January-July 2021

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total cargo throughput of all the Russian sea ports during January-July 2021 amounted to 482.9 mn tons (+1.7% year-on-year). Five terminals handled 131.8 mn tons or 27.3% of this volume.

    CPC-R in Novorossiysk was the leader in January-July 2021 in terms of cargo throughput. Its cargo traffic decreased by 1.2% year-on-year down to 35.3 mn tons.

    Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port rated the second in January-July 2021. Cargo traffic via terminal amounted to 31.8 mn tons, down 4.6% year-on-year.

    Primorsk Commercial Port handled 30.2 mn tons, down 4.9% year-on-year.

    Cargo throughput via Transneft Kozmino Port in Vostochny decreased by 1.2% down to 19.7 mn tons.

    Vostochny Port handled 14.7 mn tons. Its cargo traffic was down 9.6% year-on-year.

    It should be noted that the stevedores which demonstrated the highest growth did not get into the Top-5.

    Primoretz Fishing Cooperative in Nakhodka saw its cargo traffic surge 31-fold, Za Rodiny Fishing Cooperative in Kaliningrad was up 21.3-fold and Nakhodka Oil bunker was up 13.1-fold.

    The largest decrease in cargo traffic was in Tiksi Sea Port (-96.9%), Anroskrym in port Kavkaz (-95.1%) and Balt Nafta Cooperative in Kaliningrad (-94.4%).
