TOP-5 Russian Terminals Throughput in January-February 2021

    According to SeaNews PORTSTAT analytic online service, the total cargo throughput of all the Russian sea ports during January-February 2021 amounted to 128.3 mn tons (-3.1% year-on-year). Five terminals handled 35.2 mn tons or 27.3% of this volume.

    CPC-R in Novorossiysk became the leader in January-February 2021 in terms of cargo throughput. Its cargo traffic decreased by 8.3% year-on-year down to 9.6 mn tons.

    Primorsk Commercial Port stepped a line down and rates the second in January-February 2021 compared to January 2021. Cargo traffic via the terminal amounted to 8.4 mn tons, down 24.8% year-on-year.

    Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port handled 8 mn tons, down 23.2% year-on-year.

    Cargo throughput via Transneft Kozmino Port in Vostochny decreased by 2.8% down to 5.3 mn tons.

    Vostochny Port handled 4 mn tons, down 9.9% year-on-year. In January 2021, Vostochny Port was in the 8th position.

    It should be noted that the stevedores which demonstrated the highest growth did not get into the Top-5. Za Rodiny Fishing Cooperative saw its cargo traffic surge 64-fold, Kerch Commercial Port, Crimean Sea Ports branch was up 9-fold and Nakhodka oil bunker was up 8.5-fold.

    The largest decrease in cargo traffic was in Anroskrym in Port Kavkaz (-97.9%), in YuzhnoKurilsk Docker in Nevelsk (-85.7%) and in First Murmansk Terminal (-85.6%).
